About National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS)
The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) is one of the largest reforms after Medicare in Australia. It is expected to support 470,000 participants nationally once the scheme is fully implement by 2019-20 with an expenditure of up to approximately $22 billion. NSW presents with the largest NDIS market in Australia and will grow to $6.8 billion by 2019-20 from the existing $3.4 billion and with approximately 140,000 NDIS participants NSW is expected to have the largest representation of NDIS participants which will double the number of the existing people with disabilities this presenting with significant market growth and expansion opportunities for existing as well as new NDIS providers.
1. you must live in Australia and:
- be an Australian citizen OR
- hold a Permanent Visa OR
- hold a Protected Special Category Visa, that is you
- were in Australia on a Special Category Visa on 26 February 2001 or
- had been in Australia for at least 12 months in the 2 years immediately before 26 February 2001 and you returned to Australia after that day.

3. Permanent or significant disability which limits your ability to participate effectively in activities of daily living and/or capacity to participate in social and economic activities
NDIA (National Disability Insurance Agency) will assess your eligibility to receive NDIS services.
